Welcome back hipsters and moochers,
to The Leopard Lounge. We have gathered a cornucopia of the coolest
cult classics in Tinsel and TV Towns, from back in the days when
soundtracks tunes were so good that other musicians couldn’t
wait to cover them, providing a novel slant on the originals, beautifully
played and arranged, when TV themes were memorable masterpieces
that made you wish you were a special agent, detective, or even
an animal doctor!
The Hollywood studios kept the cream of the West Coast jazz musicians like drummer
Shelly Manne, trumpeter Conte Candoli or arranger Don Ralke in constant work,
while ex-big band members like Neal Hefti, Warren Barker, and Jerry Goldsmith
were suaving out on mysterious and glamorous scores to movies and TV series alike,
making their own brands of jazz, orchestral and even world music nothing if not
democratic. |
